Background and Personal

Qualified with a B.Com from Auckland University, Greg has had a long and distinguished career working in the fields of taxation, audit, business advisory and governance. Between 1996 and 2016 Greg was a director of a 4 partner medium sized CA firm in the Auckland CBD. Over that period Greg also helped set up Connect Outsourcing, which has grown since 2006 into the largest accounting outsource company based in New Zealand. Built with a focus on client service and client simplicity (using your system not ours), Connect is ever evolving to get better.

In 2016 Greg retired from public practice to pursue personal and business interests, especially to focus more on helping build Connect into the market leader it is today.

Background and Personal

Accepted as a CA (with CPP) in 1989, Barry never thought accounting should be boring. His passion to help clients operate their business more efficiently and profitably is what drives him to help you.

Retiring from public practice Barry tried commercial accounting as Finance and HR manager for one of NZ’s oldest and most respected engineering firms, seeing them through to record profits.

That was followed by a start up that he saw through to 7 figures before retiring. So Barry understands how businesses work, how to make them profitable, and is happy to share his experience with Connect clients with his no nonsense yet fun approach.

Barry can often be found enjoying a craft beer with friends, clients & business owners in his spare time. A lover of the great outdoors and travel, Barry took up “a little bit” of mountain biking after discovering the national cycle trails, which he is enjoying immensely. A keen skier and V8 performance car enthusiast, he has spent a bit of time on the slopes, piloting around a racetrack, or his favourite – the Targa Tour on our beautiful (closed for event) roads around NZ.

Background and Personal

Shiv is a qualified accountant with a Masters degree in accounting from Chandigarh University and has worked in the accounting and auditing fields for 21 years, the last 13 of which have been at Connect.

Shiv is dedicated to helping clients at all levels and is the key to arranging IT access, managing the teams, and facilitating NZ team to remote team video communications and overall workflow. Shiv oversees in-house training for all the remote teams and works closely with Sunny our CEO and founding director.

Originally from the beautiful Himalayas (visible on a clear day), Shiv now resides in nearby Chandigarh with his family including 2 young children. His interests and passions outside of work include family time, playing cricket (he’s a mean hand with the bat), watching movies and good music.

“My role is to work alongside both our clients and their remote teams, helping things run smoother, problem solving and offering training where required.”

Background and Personal

Marion is a fully qualified accountant who worked with Inland Revenue before joining Gilligan Shepherd in 2006 and became a director with them in 2017 before moving on to work with us in 2022. She brings with her a broad and deep understanding of taxation, financial and management accounting, estate planning, restructuring and solvent liquidations. Marion was member of the CPA Public Practice Committee from 2017 to 2021.

Marion loves working closely with clients to ensure their outsourcing experience is positive, efficient, and provides the foundation for them to grow.

Outside of work Marion loves walking, catching a NRL game and enjoying a quality bottle of wine with friends and family.

I work with Accountants, helping them get the best out of outsourcing by reviewing what is going on then providing guidance on the best processes, and offering solutions to improve outcomes.

Background and Personal

Angelina is a qualified accountant who has worked in the industry for 20 years in numerous roles which includes working for BankLink for 3 years implementing their Workflow system into accounting firms. After this she became the General Manager for the SBA group.

Angelina has a huge passion for sustainability, ensuring her family leave a healthy planet for generations to come. This is something she and her husband are working on constantly, knowing that each step in the right direction makes a difference. For example, working from home means fewer cars on the road each day giving them both more flexibility and time to spend with their young family and animals in the sunny Bay of Plenty.
